Orchestra Pentathalon Event 1 - Note Recognition
Students will be challenged to name as many notes as they can in one minute. The total score will be the number of notes correctly named provided that students achieve an 85% accuracy rate during the attempt. If an 85% accuracy rate is not attained, the score for the event will be recorded as zero.
For this event, students will be using the exercise module for note recognition found at music theory.net. Click here for a direct link to the module.
Students will only be required to identify notes in the clef of their own instrument, and you can customize the exercise on the module using the customization button at the top:
Select "Clefs," and then choose the clef that you want to use for practice. In the settings, you will also want to turn "Accidentals" off as students will not be required to identify accidentals in this event.
