Students will be asked to play a one octave D major scale at their loudest volume followed by the same scale at their softest volume. Their score will be based on the difference between the two volumes. (Example: 1st performance is at 90 db, second performance is at 70 db. Because 90 db is 100 times louder than 70 db, the score would be 100).
